Women’s Skills Development Project (Sewing and Tailoring Training)

Soroptimist Kathmandu is running the Sewing and Tailoring Training. Two batches of sewing and tailoring training have organized with 10 participants in each batch and 20 participants in total for six months and 20 for next six months. It was a 3 hour long training conducted for one year Kathmandu. The training is targeted towards single, unemployed or marginalized women from poor, needy or ethnically disadvantaged backgrounds, and residing in Kathmandu. The training aims to uplift the socio-economic status of these marginalized women and enhance their access to income generation opportunities by equipping them with the skills in tailoring and sewing. The training covers the basic course on tailoring and sewing. Each participant is provided with a sewing machine and a trainer is hired to provide the training.

  • To improve the socio-economic status of marginalized women by providing them income generating opportunities through skills training
